Siddu Nyamagounda was one of the 78 Congress MLA's who was elected to Karnataka assembly in May 12 polls. He was also the Contender for the ministerial berth in Congress JD government Headed by Minister HD Kumaraswamy.

The 67-year-old Minster was Returning from Goa Airport to Jamakhandi at about 4.30 am and Suddenly The Left tyre of the Innova Car, in which he was travelling burst and the Car Smashed into a Wall. He was then Rapidly Carried to the Hospital but Unfortunately, he was announced dead in the Mid Way. The Last Rites of the leader is expected to be held today.
